The first one is something I made for my Grandparents. It was hard to come up with something, because I wanted it to be meaningful and something they'd like . . . I ended up making this couple.
The pattern is pretty simple, but I think I'll put it up on my shop anyway. I like how they came out. I actually got the pair of glasses from my grandma months back. I was up at her house and she let me look through all her little oddities. I call them that, but they're not strange, she just has a collection of different things, and I found the pair of glasses among them. I just knew if would be perfect for an amigurumi.
Then, I made this hat for my brother:
It looks really dark in this picture, but the felt W is a dark blue. I used a Red Heart pattern I found on the internet for the hat, but otherwise, I just designed the front of it. It's not really something you'd wear, probably ever, maybe once or twice, but I had an idea and I wanted to go on it, so I made it. Since my brother likes Wario . . . Viola!
And this is something I designed and made in the spur of the moment:
I made it for my sister who likes rabbits. Since I had to design it pretty quickly, it turned out like that. But otherwise, I think it turned out alright. I may make some changes to the pattern later on, but for now it's alright. I will also be adding this pattern to my shop.
The next is something I worked on over the New Years. I had trouble at first starting out, because I couldn't figure out how to do his clothes . . .
I'm still not satisfied with the pattern, since it was too difficult, even though it should probably be an easy pattern. The felt wouldn't stay glued on in some places, so I ended up having to sew it on, with a needle and thread. So I'm going to have to work on his pattern a lot before I can release it. And, somehow, one of his shoes ended up smaller than the other, even though I followed my own directions to a T. Then, his right arm is sewed on higher than the left, which looks awkward. Definitely need to fix a lot of things. But I believe I can do it!
What I'm working on right now is a character from a video game that I fell in love with at first sight . . .
If only there were bears that could fly! |
Moosh! This character might be unrecognizable to a lot of people. I found him in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and just loved him from the beginning. I haven't played the game in a while, but I believe Link fights off some enemies that are harassing him and so Moosh repays him by letting him ride on his back. Forgive me if that's incorrect. There are two other animals who you can use to get around on, as well, but Moosh was the one I [would have] preferred.
The pattern's almost complete, so I hope you'll look forward to that! I was nervous about how he'd turn out, since this is the biggest pattern I've made, but he looks cuter than I would have expected, and so I'm exited to finish him.
Since I put resolutions in the title, I might as well tell you one of mine. I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, since I'm one of those who sprint at the start, but lose momentum and usually give up not even half way through. But one of the managers at my work helped me to make some goals for this year, saying that if you tell other people about them, you have a better chance of achieving them, and they can help encourage you. So I made several easy one's, or at least one's that I could see myself achieving this year. One is to make at lease 10 new patterns this year. I think it's a pretty reasonable goal. And if I can complete one in a months time, every month, I'll be well on my way to checking that goal off!
Till next time ~
