When daisies pied and violets blue,
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo! - O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are ploughmen's clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo! - O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo! - O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are ploughmen's clocks,
When turtles tread, and rooks, and daws,
And maidens bleach their summer smocks
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married men; for thus sings he,
Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo! - O word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
Spring and Winter, by William Shakespeare
I don't know why, but I just thought that I would start my post with a poem today.
It's finally starting to feel like Spring here. I was almost afraid we were going to have a lingering Winter and then it would jump right into Summer, since it started snowing on Saturday. But it only lasted for a minute and provided quite the stir at my work. But I'm relieved now that the sun is finally showing his face and it's getting warmer.
Now, onto other things! I've finished Lemmy Koopa. Because of his size, getting a good photo of him was kind a challenge for me. But I did go out and snap pictures nonetheless.
I think he turned out very well. The only thing I think I would be willing to change about his pattern in the future would be his legs. I made them separate from the body, but I think it might look better if I crocheted them into the body. That might not make sense to you, but it makes perfect sense to me, haha! If you'd like to see more of him, check out my Etsy shop.
I said that after I was finished with Lemmy I would go on to edit my Shy Guy pattern, but I haven't even started on that yet. . . Something else came up and I started on a different pattern. You can see him in the photo below:
I made him for a friend who had a birthday, so it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. However, I think I should say his pattern almost isn't original. I found some pictures online of a crocheted panda that I liked, which led me to this Japanese blog. I tried to find the pattern, but I couldn't figure out if she sells the pattern, the finished products, or even if she sells the things she makes at all. So, I decided to make my own. It doesn't look as cute as hers, but I haven't finished fixing up the pattern yet.
But when I do, the next thing you can be sure that I'll be working on is Shy Guy!
